Baby Basket Update, August 2022

The Baby Basket Project was set up in 2019 to serve the new mothers in the community who were experiencing difficulties obtaining essentials for their babies.

The project functioned under Covid limitations throughout the pandemic following rigorous risk assessments. As well as families on low incomes we have helped mothers fleeing domestic violence, asylum seekers and more recently refugees from Ukraine.

The current cost of living crisis is resulting in an increase in referrals. The project has become busier but we have unfortunately lost a number of our volunteers over the past 2 years. We would welcome anyone from the circuit who can spare a couple of hours on a Thursday morning to help us. With enough volunteers the commitment would not need to be every week- any time you can give would be greatly appreciated. We already receive regular donations from various churches in the circuit and this is greatly appreciated.

Check out our Facebook page Moston Baby Basket.

Call in to chat about our work any Thursday-we would be pleased to see you (brew and biscuits too!) Moston Methodist Church, Moston Lane, Moston,M40 9PA. Use side entrance on Ilkley Street and ring the bell.

Thank you
