The story behind our Poppy Collage

Suzan Allen provided two images, one which was taken in her parents’ garden and the other is a ceramic poppy from the War Museum (in Salford Quays) exhibition a couple of years ago.

Melanie Gee, from Moston Methodist Church says:

“As Remembrance commemorations have been cancelled for this year I really liked the idea to put poppy pictures in our windows like we did with the rainbows for the NHS.  So I thought I’d have a go at a painting. Never painted before but I’m quite happy with the result. We even have real poppies flowering!”

The beautiful images below were taken by Elva Towler in the grounds of Clayton Methodist Church.

Abigail Robyn Yarwood provided two wonderful creations the first of which was made using acrylic paints and the second sharpie pens.

Thank you so much to all involved in helping us mark this important date!
