Walking The WAY is a series of reflective walks around the local area of Manchester. The walks are usually no longer than 3 miles long and at various points of interest (3-4) there is time to be still, reflect and ponder. These are good for our well-being as well as tapping into our spirituality. On one of the walks previously done the question was asked ‘what is life giving for you?’ and the response from one of the walkers was, ‘coming along on these walks’.
These walks have been run physically since coming out of lockdown in Calderdale (West Yorkshire). The first ones were done during Lent along sections of the Rochdale Canal between Brighouse and Todmorden. Since then, many people have come along and enjoyed the time walking and chatting together but also having the time and space to just stop and reflect. There are often times for refreshment at the end of the walks to continue the conversations. If you enjoy walking and having time to stop and reflect then why not give it a go. If you are interested in coming along then just turn up usually the first Sunday afternoon in the month at 2pm or contact Paul Welch pwelch@manchestermethodists.org.uk
