This tree was part of the Christmas Tree festival at Didsbury church.
Thank you Chris and Phil!
Breaking News
A concert given by the United Christian Singers to raise money for Befrienders will be held in the early summer. Details will be sent as soon as we have them.
Volunteering
Our volunteers won a Christmas meal given in appreciation of volunteering by the management of the Town Hall Tavern. We had a lovely time which was also a rare opportunity for the Monday and Wednesday teams to see each other!
While we have a great team, we are always keen to welcome more volunteers by …
- Being a listening ear
- Collecting and transporting food collections to the Centre
- Prayer – holding our Monday and Wednesday sessions in prayer (this can be done from home!)
- Praying in the chapel with those who ask for prayer
NB it isn’t essential to commit to every week; we’d just love to be able to use your gifts and any time you can offer.
Thank you
We are thankful for all the gifts received over Christmas including those from…
The congregation at Northmoor Road church
Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes
Nexus
Liz from GMCC who arranged a food collection among her neighbours
Abi from Nexus who held a Christmas event and encouraged her friends to donate to the food bank
Janet from TMCP who collected socks

Partners
In December volunteers from the Co-op came along to Befrienders to help make Christmas decorations – traditional paper chains and hand-wreaths – for the café and chapel.
Thank you Amanda, Marianne and Colin for entering into this with such empathy and enthusiasm!
We’ve also appreciated visits from Ruth of The Big Issue (North) in recent months.

You should each give, then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly.
