We would like to invite you to join Manchester Central Foodbank and a wide range of partners from across the education, health, advice, and community sectors for our 2025 Manchester Equal Start Summit. This is a drop-in session, so everybody is welcome to come and go as they please during the summit.
The event will be taking place from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday 5th February at Methodist Central Hall, Oldham Street, M1 1JQ.
Please SIGN UP here now and SHARE with colleagues and contacts who may be interested
It is absolutely FREE to attend and will involve schools, NHS teams, advice services, and other partners sharing the impacts of a wide range of child and family anti-poverty work that we have been conducting together over the last 3 years.
We aim for this to be a participatory space for sharing experiences and building relationships with funders and other organisations to seed and grow more partnerships between the education, health, and community sectors to support our families in the best way that we can in the coming years.
Projects that will be sharing their work and looking to find potential new collaborators and funding include:
- Co-located advice provision in 5 Manchester schools which has secured over £120,000 into the pockets of Manchester families.
- Cash grant scheme and wraparound support offers in Manchester schools.
- A Healthy Start Voucher benefit uptake campaign which has secured over £100,000 into the pockets of Manchester families.
- School Uniform provision, community manifesto and Manchester School Uniform Survey results.
- A community film from the Time to Talk group in Ardwick and Longsight sharing experiences of local barriers to accessing services, support, and entitlements.
- Anti-Poverty training and programmes run in Manchester schools.
We aim for everyone to come away from this event with new ideas and connections for improving anti-poverty and cost of living support within schools and community settings and potential working group members sourcing much-needed funding and capacity for schools and frontline organisations.
