A farewell to Ken & Caroline

On Sunday evening the Circuit shared an emotional farewell service as we say goodbye to the lovely Rev. Ken Stokes who embarks on his retirement journey this summer and our wonderful Superintendent Rev. Caroline Wickens as she moves on to pastures new.

Thank you to the the folk at Manley Park who hosted the event and catered to a very full church!

The service was led by Rev. Sharon Read and included offerings from varying members of the Circuit and beautiful farewell words from both Ken and Caroline. Both members of the team will be sadly missed.

Here a some final words of thanks from Caroline:

Dear friends of the Manchester circuit,
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity as I leave the circuit for new ministry ‘down South’. The farewell service was unforgettable, and it brought a memorable end to eight years of enriching, challenging, exhausting, joyful ministry in Manchester. Your parting gifts were overwhelmingly generous and I shall make good use of them. Above all, thank you for our shared journey with God, discovering together what it means to be God’s people here – and every blessing for all that lies ahead,
With love from Caroline
