Delegates from the 14 member institutions of the Greater Manchester Chapter of Citizens UK came together in a Delegates Assembly at Central Hall MCR on Thursday 30 January to build relational power to make change.
“As two of the member institutions, Central Hall MCR and Greater Manchester Mission Area of NWED are working within this powerful coalition for social justice within our city region which connects to our Methodist identity as a Justice-Seeking Church” said Revd. Ian Rutherford, City Centre Minister and Co-Chair of the National Leadership Team of Citizens UK.
Ian opened the Assembly with the story of the Greater Manchester Chapter of Citizens UK. He also spoke of their General Election Campaign last year and the continued relationship-building with the Government through the National Leadership Team of Citizens UK.
Highlights from the night included the presentations from four Youth Leadership Teams and hearing the powerful stories from Marie, Luke, and Karen on the three local priorities of Universal Credit, Real Living Wage, and Mental Health Support for young people.
