Theos Annual Lecture 2025

In conjunction with Theos and CCLA, I am pleased to invite you to the Theos Annual Lecture 2025, which will take place on Thursday, 9 October, at Methodist Central Hall, Manchester.

Theos Annual Lecture 2025 Tickets, Thu, Oct 9, 2025 at 7:00 PM | Eventbrite

We are honoured to welcome Mayor Andy Burnham as this year’s Theos annual lecturer.

Andy Burnham was first elected as Mayor of Greater Manchester in May 2017, re-elected for a second term in May 2021 and a third term in May 2024. Responsible for shaping the future of Greater Manchester, Andy is committed to ensuring that Greater Manchester is a place where people of all faiths, beliefs and cultures are able to realise their full potential and benefit from the success of the city region, enabled through strong partnerships with the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector.

The Theos Annual Lecture is an opportunity for a respected speaker to deliver a significant intervention on his or her chosen topic related, broadly, to faith and ethics in public life. It is, in effect, a platform for a public intellectual to do what Theos was founded to do, i.e. to tell a better story about faith – better in the sense of more accurate, but also better in the sense of more appealing, more attractive, more winsome.

We are also delighted that this year – for the first time – the Theos Annual Lecture will be held outside London.

Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, and the lecture will be followed by drinks and canapés. Central Hall is accessible and situated just a 10-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station. Full information on getting there, as well as details on access can be found here.

I would be delighted for you to join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring evening.
